Western Financial

Built on the historic property of Taber’s former Canadian Pacific Railway station, we wanted our design for Western Financial’s new office to reflect its site history. Railway adjacent, the building looks as though it still functions as a train station. The all-American wrapping veranda is a place where you can still imagine ticketholders lining up for their steampowered voyage across the country. It is a reminder about how the nation was industrially shaped, and a reminder of Taber’s historic gateway. Smaller details embellish the imagery, such as the elevated platform before the entry, the hanging signage under the eaves, and the craftsmanship of the brackets.
